Riverview Playground
Stargazers of any age will enjoy the park's award-winning playground near the Allegheny Observatory. This "space age" activity area includes a "Cosmic Climber," "Galaxy Finder Play Area," and a pathway representing a comet's tail. Concrete bands radiate from the yellow sun at "Sun Central" to concrete stars depicting the five brightest stars of the night sky. Sun Central also includes a picnic pavilion, game tables and water fountains.
Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, in partnership with other local environmental organizations, also provides a number of educational opportunities for people of all ages, including the Landscape Exploration Program, Pittsburgh Environmental Teaching Workshop, and Urban EcoSteward Program.
