Sundae Market returns  |  posted 8.27.09

One of Schenley Plaza's signature events, the Sundae Market, returns this Sunday from noon to 5:00!  Part artists' market, part sidewalk sale, and part block party, this Sundae will be hosted by DJ duo Philadelphyinz.  For more info, click here.

Highland Park walk this Sunday  |  posted 8.24.09

Our next America on the Move Walk is scheduled for this Sunday, August 30.  The walk will begin at 4 p.m. at the Highland Park entry garden and follow the 1.1 mile Reservoir Drive trail.  After the walk, the Reservoir of Jazz summer concert series wraps up with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra featuring Sean Jones from 5-7 p.m. 

Pogopalooza hits Schenley Plaza  |  posted 8.21.09

The annual gathering of the world's most talented pogo athletes is coming to Pittsburgh this year, and we're hosting the main event at Schenley Plaza!  This Saturday afternoon, you'll see high-flying pogo tricks, competitions, and demonstrations.  For more info, click here.  And check out the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's story about the event!

Tickets are now available for "From Bad to Great: Lessons from Central Park," the second installment in our fall lecture series.  On September 21, Doug Blonsky of the Central Park Conservancy and Tim Fulton, formerly of the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, will outline the pros and cons of a zone management approach to park maintenance.  Reserve your spot today!

This weekend, Schenley Plaza will transform into an outdoor gallery, bringing together more than 50 artists for the first-ever Pittsburgh Visionary Arts Festival.  The full spectrum of art, from performance to sound to painting, will be on display.  Click here to visit the festival website.  The Post-Gazette also has a great article explaining why this is a new kind of arts festival.
