Bioneers Conference

The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is proud to be a part of Three Rivers Bioneers, a project of the Urban Ecology Collaborative.  Over the past year, the group has worked to bring the Bioneers Conference, a solutions-based gathering of people working to heal our planet, to Pittsburgh for the first time.  Now Pittsburgh will be one of two dozen cities around the country to host a Bioneers satellite conference on October 16 - 18.  Read on for ways to get involved.

Attend a Bioneers Monday Warmup Event

Each month, Three Rivers Bioneers hosts a warm-up event that showcases both past Bioneers speakers and some of the most innovative groups in Pittsburgh.  You can engage in the conversation locally, and then see what other concerned citizens are doing worldwide.

Save the Date for the Conference

Three Rivers Bioneers Conference
October 16 - 18, 2009
The Pittsburgh Project

Not only will you hear from tons of local leaders, your registration includes satellite feeds of the plenary speakers from the Bioneers conference in California, including Andrew Weil, MD, the country's top authority on holistic medicine, and Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore's Dilemma.

What will you experience during the conference? You will hear from local citizens who are part of the solution and doing work in your own communities. You will learn and be inspired from national and international leaders who are leading the ecological health, social justice, and human health movements. You will share a locally grown and cooked meal with your neighbors, get tools to create change in your communities, and be a part of the visioning process on how to make Pittsburgh the city that you want it to be.

Registration will begin later this summer!  Click here to learn more.
