The Pittsburgh Trail Advocacy Group is working all season to improve the multi-use trail experience in Riverview Park.  They'll be at the park entrance on Riverview Ave. at 9:45am this Saturday, May 23 and will spend the morning working on the trails.  If you'd like to help out, all volunteers are welcome!  Click here for more information.

We're excited to announce the return of Walks in the Woods for the 2009 season!  These Wednesday-evening docent-led walks will cycle through a different regional park each week of the month.  Our first walk will be at Frick Park on June 3 at 6:30.  For a complete schedule, click here.

Don't forget that the next installment in the Parks Conservancy's spring lecture series is happening Wednesday, May 13 at the Schenley Park Cafe and Visitor Center!  Conservancy Field Ecologist Jake Milofsky will share how volunteers are rescuing park ecology.  For a complete schedule of the lectures, click here.

We'll be out in Frick Park this Saturday, May 16 from 9:00am to 1:00 pm planting and fencing trees and removing invasive plants.  This is our last public volunteer day of the spring, and we could really use your help!  Please RSVP to volunteer@pittsburghparks.org or 412-682-7275, ext. 201 if you'd like to attend, and then meet us at the Firelane Trail off Commercial St. on Saturday.

Riverview Park Closure  |  posted 5.4.09

Riverview Park will be closed for several hours on Wednesday, May 6 for the implosion of the Davis Avenue bridge that will occur at 2:00 p.m.  This closure extends to both trails and roads going through the park.  Click here for more information.
