Directions to Riverview Avenue Entrance

From the South and East

Take 279 N. to the McKnight Rd. exit, staying in the right lane for Evergreen Road. 
At stop sign turn left. 
At the first light make a left onto Route 19 South. 
At the next light make a right onto Baytree Road.  
At the 5-way intersection with Perry Traditional Academy in front of you, make a left onto Perrysville Avenue (not the hard left down the hill).  
Follow the road around to Riverview Avenue and make a right.  
Go left around the bend and then right down the one way road.  
Follow it the whole way around the park (1.5 miles).

From the West

Take Rt. 65 S to Beaver St., then follow signs for the "U-turn" to Route 19 N (Marshall Avenue). 
At the "T", turn left onto Perrysville Avenue, continuing to follow Route 19 North. 
Turn left onto Riverview Avenue, leading into the park. 
At the entrance, make a right to go to the Allegheny Observatory or a left into the park.

From the North

Take 279 south to the Perrysville exit. 
Make a left at the end of the exit ramp to the stop light and turn right. 
Follow Perrysville Avenue to Riverview Avenue and turn left into the park. 
At the entrance, make a right to go to the Allegheny Observatory or a left into the park.

Riverview Park Visitor Center

Get to know the parks this summer with free weekly walks led by docents familiar with their history, ecology, and transformation.  Walks last an hour to an hour and a half.  For more information, click here.

Allegheny Observatory Tours

Tours of this working research facility begin with a short slide or film presentation and continue with a walking tour that ends at the 13" Fitz-Clark refractor telescope.  If it's a clear night, you'll see whatever celestial objects are within the telescope's range.  Tours are free but reservations are required.  Call 412-321-2400 between 1:00 and 5:00 Monday through Friday to reserve your spot.  For more information, click here.
