Directions to Schenley Oval


From the North

Take PA-28 S toward Pittsburgh.
Merge onto I-579 S toward Liberty Bridge.
Take I-376 E / Oakland / Monroeville exit.
Stay straight to go onto Blvd of the Allies.
At signs for Oakland/Phipps Conservatory, turn slight right onto Panther Hollow Road.
Turn right onto Greenfield Road.
Turn right onto Overlook Drive (one-way road) and follow it up to the Oval.

From the South

Follow PA-837 N/Green Belt into Pittsburgh.
Turn right onto West St./Blue Belt.
Stay straight to go onto Beechwood Boulevard.
Turn right onto Greenfield Bridge.
Take a left at the end of the bridge to go onto Greenfield Road.
Turn left onto Overlook Drive (one-way road) and follow it up to the Oval.

From the East

Follow I-376 W into Pittsburgh and take exit 5 toward
Homestead/Squirrel Hill.
Take ramp toward Greenfield.
Turn slight right onto Beechwood Boulevard.
Turn right onto Greenfield Bridge.
Take a left at the end of the bridge to go onto Greenfield Road.
Turn left onto Overlook Drive (one-way road) and follow it up to the Oval.

From the West

Follow I-376 E and take exit 5 toward Greenfield.
Turn slight right onto Beechwood Boulevard.
Turn right onto Greenfield Bridge.
Take a left at the end of the bridge to go onto Greenfield Road.
Turn left onto Overlook Drive (one-way road) and follow it up to the Oval.

 


 

Directions to Schenley Park Cafe and Visitor Center

From the North

Take I-79 South to I-279 towards Pittsburgh.
Follow I-279 to I-579 over the Veterans Bridge.  
Follow signs for I-376 East/ Monroeville (on the Veterans Bridge, you will have to get into the second lane from the right). 
Take Exit 5 for Oakland and Forbes Avenue.  
Continue on Forbes Avenue.
Turn right on Bigelow Blvd/Schenley Drive. 
Turn left at Roberto Clemente Dr. 
At the stoplight at Schenley Drive Ext., follow the road to the right and cross the bridge to enter the park.  
Schenley Park Cafe and Visitor Center will be straight ahead past Phipps Conservatory.

From the South and West

Take Route 60 to Routes 22/30 east to I-279 North.
Take I-279 North toward Pittsburgh, through the Ft. Pitt Tunnel. 
Follow signs to I-376 East (Monroeville). 
Take Exit 5 for Oakland and Forbes Avenue.
Follow Forbes Avenue for about 1.5 miles.
Turn right onto Bigelow Blvd/Schenley Dr. 
Turn left at Roberto Clemente Dr. 
At the stoplight at Schenley Drive Ext., follow the road to the right and cross the bridge to enter the park.  
Schenley Park Cafe and Visitor Center will be straight ahead past Phipps Conservatory.

From the East

Take I-376 West to the 3-B Oakland exit. 
At end of ramp, bear right uphill on Bates Street (North 885). 
Turn right onto Boulevard of the Allies toward Schenley Park.
Go through two stoplights and over the Anderson Bridge into Schenley Park.  
Take second right loop towards Phipps Conservatory, Flagstaff Hill, and Oakland.
Schenley Park Cafe and Visitor Center will be on your right after you cross Panther Hollow Bridge.

Directions to Schenley Oval


From the North

Take PA-28 S toward Pittsburgh.

Venture Outdoors Soup of the Month Hike
Schenley Park

Join Venture Outdoors in Schenley Park for an invigorating 3-4 mile hike that explores one of our beautiful regional parks. After the hike you will gather in a pavilion and be treated to a hot bowl of healthy "gourmet" soup. Two soups will be served (one vegetarian) as well as bread, hot chocolate, and tea. Cost is $12 for Venture Outdoors members, $18 for non-members, and $8 for kids. Register at www.ventureoutdoors.org

Venture Outdoors High-Energy Hike
Schenley Park

Join Venture Outdoors for a brisk evening hike through Schenley Park. You will quickly walk 4-6 miles along the winding trails of this beautiful city park. After the hike, you'll take to the stairs and climb 36 flights to the top of the Cathedral of Learning (optional). The view is spectacular! The cost is $5 for Venture Outdoors members and $8 for non-members. Register at www.ventureoutdoors.org
