Pittsburgh's parks are some of the best places to celebrate America's birthday. Thousands flock to pavilions for cookouts with friends, trails to walk and bike with families, and of course great lookouts to watch the annual city-shaking Fourth of July fireworks show.

Pack up a folding chair or blanket and visit our favorite park places for this once-a-year extravaganza! Fireworks begin at 9:30PM.

West End/Elliott Overlook

The West End/Elliott Overlook offers a panoramic view of the city with the Point at the very center. Here you have a clear view of the Allegheny River - and of course the fireworks!

Point State Park

Get right up in the action with this front-row seat. We'd suggest getting there early to stake out a spot since this is a very popular place to watch.

Emerald View Park

On the Fourth of July, emerald is just one of a rainbow of colors that you can see from this park's many vistas. Watch fireworks erupt behind the Pittsburgh skyline from this iconic park place. Park pro tip: We usually post up at the Point of View.

Allegheny Commons Park

With the historic Northside in the foreground, you can spend July 4th watching the sky light up from Pittsburgh's oldest park. The west side of the park offers the closest, clearest view.

Schenley Park

If you prefer a quieter holiday, get away from the bigger crowds by heading to Schenley Park. Both the Overlook and the top of the Bob O'Connor Golf Course boast a view without the boom.

The first fireworks of the holiday are going off from this Lawrenceville park on Saturday, June 30th. Bring the whole family for the 74th Annual Independence Day Celebration. Find event information here.
