The completion of the trail and signage project has been an invaluable asset to the region’s park users. In 2010, the Parks Conservancy completed a federally-funded $3.8 million restoration of nearly six miles of trails throughout the park system. The project included a new trail in Highland Park, the restoration of several 1930s-era Works Progress Administration footbridges in Schenley Park, and the installation of a new bridge along Frick Park's Falls Ravine Trail.

As part of the project, more than 100 new directional and interpretive signs were installed in the historic Regional Parks, providing visitors with maps, information, and educational material about park history and ecology.
